Our Dear Pets!!!!

As A family we have been going through the loss of another dearly loved pet. Boy, this has been a very tough year for us.  We first lost one of our cats, who became very ill very quickly, and before I could get him into the vet the next day, he passed away!!!!  In my arms :(  It crushed me.  Toby was only about 6 years old, and he was a great cat. Then a few months later we lost our beloved Golden Retriever Scout. The most amazing dog I have ever had. The past few years I had been dreading this day, but knew it was coming.  She was a part of out family for 14 years. The boys didn't really know life without her. As a puppy she never chewed anything, and trained like a champ. And I think she maybe barked about 8 times her whole life. She was just such a good dog. Then last week we sadly had to put down our other cat Kieran. Kieran was Toby's brother, so also very young. He was a very special cat especially to me. Both boys were born in our home. It was a small litter of 3, and one was not born alive. So there was just Toby and Kieran. When  they were about 2 weeks old, Kieran got very sick with a chest infection. We took him to emergency care, and was told to save him he would need to be kept in an incubator, on IV for about a week. Then he might survive.  The worst part was the cost. Minimum 1,500.00.  A cost we just couldn't afford to spend, knowing he might not even survive. So we brought him home armed with liquid antibiotics, formula, and an eye dropper.  That kitten lived inside my bra......yes I know crazy, but I was so afraid he would stop breathing and I wouldn't know.......for the next 4 weeks!!!!  I fed him every 3-4 hours drop by drop.  And he spent every minute with me doing all the household chores, sitting in a little towel beside the shower when I showered.....everything!!!  And against all odds he lived, and grew!!!!  He was never really like a cat.  He had no cat instincts.  He loved to be vacumed, he loved to jump in the shower with me, he greeted me every time he saw me with a high five......he was just simply my boy!!!!!!  So when he got sick my heart sunk.  I am in tears writing about him.....I miss him so much :(    We rushed him to emergency care again only to learn he had the same fatal kidney problem that his brother died from.  So we had to put him down.

 Kieran
So it has been a horrible year.  I know some people say they are just pets, or just a cat.  But they loved me every single day no matter what.  I LOVE animals and always have.  I can't imagine life without them.  They have taught my kids so much throughout their lives.  I am not just an animal owner.....I am a lover of pets.  They mean the world to me.  So this is my farewell to 3 amazing pieces of my family.  I miss you all.  R.I.P dear Toby, Scout and Kieran

ScrapbookSteals MWM Turquoise #2 and #3

I have sure gotten a little bit behind lately posting my MWM's, and just keeping up with my life.

Life just seems to get in the way sometimes.  I spent a wonderful Mothers Day at my daughter Kelsie, and her husband Paul's home.  We did a little planting of some pretty potted plants, and little Miss Blake took me for a tour of the neighbourhood, on the little Barbie Bike that I got her for her 2nd Birthday!! She is growing so darn fast.  I can't believe she is going to be 3 years old this summer. It was a great day and spending it with my 3 daughters made it even better!
PS the strawberry cake Kelsie made was AMAZING!!!!  And Lacey made a delicious apple pie.....such talented bakers my girls are!!!!

 Heavenly Apple Pie

Blake and I playing Angry Birds LOL!!!

Scrapbook Steals Summer PM Power Design Team

I am so excited to be applying for Scrapbook Steals Design Team!!!
I LOVE Scrapbook Steals for so many reasons. They are more like a family than a business. I have made so many wonderful friends through their site. Before I started following, buying, and doing their MWM Sketches designed by the incredible Kristy, I was lucky if I created one LO a month!!! I now have 4 large albums filled.
THANK YOU Scrapbook Steals for the opportunity to join such an amazing team!!!

To apply you must send 5 projects, and this is the 5 I have chosen.

The Above layout is near and dear to my heart.......it is the first layout that I did for the MWM!!!

Wish me Luck!!!! There are so many incredibly talented artists out there who are also applying. So regardless of whether I am selected or not.....I am happy to just have the opportunity to show my work!

Happy Monday!!!!

Happy Monday!!! I hope everyone had an inspirational and fun NSD!
I was able to complete a few projects, and I still have a few that need some final touches.
For now I wanted to share with you a few of the things I worked on.

The top one is a layout I did for a Scrapbook Steals Challenge called Stitch it Up!!!
I love the way it turned out. I did it as a second page to a layout I had done previously. The second photo is both of them together. Sorry about the crappy photos. I am having problems with my camera a really need to get a new one. Any suggestions????

Supplies:Cardstock-Bazzill, Letters-American Crafts Thickers Sunrise, Ink-Versa Magic, DMC Floss, Patterned Paper-We R Memory Keepers Twirl Collection

I also wanted to share these little flowers I love to crochet. They are made with DMC Floss which is perfect because the floss is made in a million colors. I always have a perfect embellishment in the perfect color.

Th smaller ones at the bottom are really fun because you can add a brad, crystal, or a bead to the center.

Here is a layouts where I have used the flowers.

I also made this Baby Girl Album for a friend over the weekend!

And lastly I made a couple cards for some special people!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!!!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day everyone. Today I decided to stay at home and do some cropping in my own little crafty room. I love getting out and scrapping with friends, however I must admit that sometimes I get so busy chatting and shopping that I don't always get much accomplished!!! Hopefully with less distractions (well....besides the teenage boys, attention seeking cats, and my golden retriever puppy who just yesterday chewed a hole in my wall large enough to hide a cheeseburger!!!), I will get everything I want to do done!!!
I also have one of my daughters scrapbooking with me for the first time. She is going to be making some cards, and I will share them with you tomorrow.

Today I wanted to share with you my ATC Cards that I have been working on and finally finished. This is my first attempt at them, and I really like the way they turned out!

I used Echo Parks Hello Spring Collection. I LOVE this collection. The colors are so soft and beautiful. First I double matted the paterned paper on Bazzill cardstock, then cut a smaller piece of white Bazzill cardstock, inked the edges and drew on the butterflies. I colored in each butterly with a Copic Marker, then attatched the button. Hopefully everyone who receives them will like them as much as I do!!!
